This webinar will be given by Dipl. Ing. Matthias Schmidt on Wednesday 27th September 2023 at 12 pm [noon] British Summertime.

Matthias Schmidt is the CEO of AnalyzerPro (www.analyzer.at) which specialises in software for traffic accident analysis since 2017.  He has a master’s degree in physics and has authored several publications in the field of Collision Investigation, e.g.  for conferences organised by EVU.

In this free webinar Matthias will be discussing how, in the realm of traffic accident analysis, professionals often grapple with common scenarios rather than the rarer edge cases.  While flying cars and multi-vehicle crashes might capture the imagination, the reality is that most incidents involve things like straightforward 1 v 1 collisions or speeding events.  Given the value of an expert's time, efficient tools like AnalyzerPro have been developed.  These tools incorporate traditional methods such as kinematics and kinetic simulations, but they also embrace modern techniques like digital data analysis and machine learning.

The presentation will cover three core topics:

  1. Techniques for analysing a turn-in crash, highlighting the capabilities of automatic collision analysis within AnalyzerPro.
  2. The integration and interpretation of Bosch-CDR data and digital tachograph data, especially in the context of a highway accident between a truck and a car.
  3. Approaches to analysing crash test videos to determine closing speeds.
